Lake Hindmarsh – Four Mile Beach.

Lake Hindmarsh, recently filled with water, provides a lovely backdrop to this very spacious campground.

When full, lake Hindmarsh is the largest lake in Victoria.

Very reasonable camping fees, give you access to toilets with hot showers and a brand new camp kitchen. The showers require 20 cent pieces.

Mallie breathing in some serenity!

The sandy tracks around the lake provide interesting bushwalking, ancient trees, and an abundance of birdlife. There are about half a dozen powered sites and  almost unlimited unpowered sites. Although maybe past its heyday, Four Beach provides a peaceful, relaxing and clean camp only six kilometres out of Jeparit.

Sandy tracks around Lake Hindmarsh.

During it’s glory days, back 40 or 50 years, Lake Hindmarsh was full of fish and very popular for swimming and water skiing. This week is very windy and the water does not look very inviting.

The “beach” not very inviting at the present moment.
