After almost two years of planning, the intrepid adventurers finally leave Bendigo enroute to Gippsland, Victoria! Since we were passing through Melbourne, we took the opportunity to visits our much-loved relatives who reside in the big smoke and booked in for a few days at the Rockbank Caravan Park.

Located on the Western Highway heading towards Ballarat, the Sundowner Caravan Park in only about thirty kilometers from the CBD of Melbourne. The rates are very reasonable, and the Rockbank Railway Station is an easy twenty-minute walk away.

After a visiting Uncle Ged the previous day, we were delighted to accept an invitation to lunch with Aunty Carmel in Yarraville. During a very pleasant afternoon, Jack was presented with a photograph of himself as a toddler, taking at Berriwillock in the late 1950s. Jack is held by his grandmother, Margaret Roger standing with Grandfather Daniel Rogers and Aunt Mary Rogers.

Enjoying some rare, but magnificent Melbourne weather, the weekend provided Jack and Mallie the opportunity to visit Jim and Rosie who reside in the Marina Tower at Docklands. Alighting the train at Southern Cross Station the walk tooks us pass the Marvel Stadium.

And then continued pass the Docklands waterways.

Many thanks to Rosie for the magnificent feast which was truly fit for a King! And the 270-degree views were absolutely breathtaking!

The Marina Tower also provides residents with a gym and large pool area on the seventh floor which also affords another spectacular view of the surrounds.

Many thanks to all for your hospitality whilst we were in Melbourne.

Thanks Jack and Mallie for the update, great your on the road.

Hi Jack and Mallie, Enjoy your trip. Loved the photo of your grandparents and great aunt. Mary doesn’t seem to have changed much over the years. You seem to be a handful even then.
