Located beside the Lane Cove National Park, about eight kilometres north of the CBD, the Lane Cove Discovery Caravan Park is an excellent base to explore Sydney from. The Sydney CBD can be easy reached from North Ryde Railway Station, a ten-minute walk away from the park. The North Ryde train connects to the city service through the Chatswood Interchange, and in less than half an hour will cross the famous Sydney Habour Bridge.

A visit to Bondi Beach was high on Mallie’s agenda.

Sydney is a very beautiful city, and it has lots to offer visitors. On a lovely crisp Friday morning our first stop was Mary McKillop Place in North Sydney. A place of spirituality, education and hospitality, Mary MacKillop Place is unique in Australia.

The heart of this sacred site is the Mary MacKillop Memorial Chapel where the tomb of Saint Mary MacKillop is located.

Surrounded by beautiful gardens, St Mary’s Catherdal in Sydney also has a statue of Australia’s first saint, who was cannonized on 17 October 2010.

Getting around by ferry is definitely one of the joys of visiting Sydney. Disembarking at Pyrmont Bay we had too few hours to explore the Australian National Maritime Museum, aka the SeaMuseum. We were fortune to have enough time to board the HVB Endeavour replica, the HMAS Vampire, the HMAS Onslow (submarine) and the replica of the Duyfken, the first European (Dutch 1606) vessel known to visit Australia.

With the SeaMuseum also exhibiting a Wildlife Photography event, it wasn’t long before Mallie made some new friends!

Great stuff Jack and Mallie. Really enjoyed your trip to Sydney.
