Continuing north from the Charters Towers Region on the excellent Gregory Development Road, we entered the Shire of Etheridge, Far North Queensland, in what is known as the Savannah Gulf Region. As caravan parks are few and far between in this remote cattle grazing and mining area, we opted to spend the night in a large gravel pit in the locality known as Minnamoolka.

After reaching tropical Far North Queensland, our heading will soon be orientated from North to the West.
